Nice little campground. For a short visit to Mainz it’s perfect. The service personnel is very friendly and helpful. Of course, the planes landing and taking off can be heard. Use earplugs if that bothers you.
Riverside camping at a convenient location for Mainz/Wiesbaden. 25 minute walk puts you in the old town with abundant restaurants etc. very relaxed atmosphere. Pitches vary in size but seem to accommodate most units. Good motorhome facilities. Bathrooms clean and fully functional. Bar/restaurant on site. Felt peaceful and secure. Owners were very responsive to email for booking a pitch. Not expensive. One night booking was accepted in September - not sure of their policy in high season. Good as a stopover (5-6 hours from hoek van Holland) or for a few days to explore as it’s an interesting town and there’s also good cycling by the river.
Nice small campsite by the river, across from Mainz. Takes about 30 mins to walk to Mainz across the bridge. Has all the facilities - toilets, showers, small shop, water, washing up sinks, could see some laundry, kiosk with a bar. We borrowed an electric extension lead. Toilets and showers are fairly clean but a bit old. Friendly service from the staff 🙂
Location is great and close to the city mainz. And is great for a one night stay.
Was greeted by a friendly woman at the reception.
Its a Small camping and it can get busy with 1 night stay cyclists. So better tot arrive early than late.
Only 4 stars because i was not impressed with the small AND uneven area. But this cannot be helped because of the trees (roots)
But still recommended. Showers and toilets clean. 5 stars :)
Campsite on the edge of the river. Grassy with trees and bushes. Very pleasantly situated. Reasonable facilities. Easy bike ride across the river to all the main sites in Mainz. You ride along the river bank, cross a little bridge then up to a main traffic bridge. There are bike lanes.
Nice enough. Cash only which is a pain, would use the bar if card could be used to pay.
Handy if you wish to visit Mainz or Wiesbaden.
This site is on the banks of the Rhein, directly opposite the centre of Mainz across the river. It was an easy 1.5 mile cycle ride into town (as long as you don’t mind riding across a large, high bridge). The site is nice and pretty well …
It's a perfect location to explore the cities. Yes, the WC is dated. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The tent area should be divided into set lots. It's just an area of grass, and you just pick somewhere. Overall, it was definitely worth the price for the three days we stayed. The fresh bread you can order directly from the reception for the next morning is nice. There's plenty of restaurants nearby as well. Be mindful that you're in the city, so yes, you hear city noises. What else would you expect.
